Getting started

Quick start

Your first download with the app, the CLI or the browser.

With the app

  1. Start turbodl.
  2. Click Add and paste the link.
  3. Choose Start now or Add to queue.

Double-click a download to open its details: speed, time left, expected end time and the progress of each thread.

The interface is in English by default; French and Spanish are available in Settings → Appearance, along with the light and dark themes.

With the CLI

turbodl-cli default https://example.com/file.iso

default stands for the default profile, created automatically. For a profile of your own:

turbodl-cli configure my.profile.json --threads 16 --dir ~/Videos --verbosity full
turbodl-cli my.profile.json https://example.com/movie.mkv

Press Ctrl+C to pause; the resume command is printed.

From the browser

Install the extension for Chrome or Firefox: every download started in the browser is handed over to TurboDL, with your session cookies if you allow it in the popup (useful for Google Drive or member areas).

With an AI assistant

Add the MCP server to your client (Claude Code, Claude Desktop…) and simply ask "download this file".
